Cheryl-Lee Fast, President of Fast Productions, is off and running in 2006 with 5 movies for television - one of which, Cries in the Dark, obtained the highest ever rating on American television. Fast Productions also has a slew of nominations for an indie feature film called The Zero Sum, which won Best Canadian Feature at Toronto’s Reel Festival. Fast Productions is committed to mentoring emerging filmmakers and currently has a short project called Swimming Lessons, by auteur director Ellen Raine-Scott, showcased at the Vancouver International Film Festival.

Cheryl-Lee is moving beyond merely financing movies by re-structuring her company to focus more upon development and production. In 2007, Fast Productions will announce a first look arrangement with a foreign distributor with US studio connections. Also new to the company is line producer Ian Hay, along with a new production team of legal, accounting and production staff. Ian has been involved in the Canadian film and television production industry since 1995, and has over 125 hours of television and feature film programming to his credit as Producer, Line Producer or Associate Producer.

Originally working with Sugar Entertainment and Peace Arch Entertainment as an Associate Producer and Director of Productions, Ian has worked with companies such as Showtime Networks, Pearson Television International, and The Disney Channel on various dramatic television series such as FIRST WAVE, DEAD MAN’S GUN and SO WEIRD. In 2000, Ian struck out on his own freelancing as a producer and line producer for Canadian feature film and television production companies in both Vancouver and Toronto. These companies included Amaze Film and Television, Anagram Pictures and Omni Film Productions.  In recent years, Ian has begun developing his own slate of film and television projects with Canadian broadcasters such as CBC, Movie Central, and CityTV.

Fast Productions has built strong alliances from various members of the business community such as Jim Sternberg at Film Finances, Ben Rappaport at CIBC, Charlene Paling at National Bank, Gurpreet Sandhu and Lui Petrollini at Ernst and Young, and Arthur Evrensel and Carol Horn at Heenan Blaikie. Fast Productions has an excellent reputation for developing and creating film and television product, managing and facilitating production, and delivering throughout post to distributors and networks. We also handle federal and provincial tax credits and raise financing for all stages of projects.

Fast Productions has strong relations with broadcasters, associations and funds that tap into Canadian soft money outside the tax credit incentives such as Telefilm, Movie Central, CBC, TMN/HGF and Family Channel.  We also have experience in financing co-productions.
